Apogee Baton Rouge is a school where your students focus on preparing for the real world through group projects, hands-on experiences, and Socratic discussions. We do this in a student-centered environment where real world projects challenge individuals to dive deeper into areas that excite their genius.
noun: the highest point in the development of something
Our priority is to guide your student on their own special path of education into their specific area of genius. Apogee students will be assisted to their highest potential in academics, interpersonal communication, critical thinking, business, leadership and practical life skills.
Every child has an inherent genius, a purpose, a unique calling.
Sunlight, outdoors, & physical fitness are non-negotiables.
We founded Apogee Baton Rouge because we wanted more for our daughters. We want them in an environment that promotes the love of learning. We want them to be able to enjoy their childhood freely and not be bound to a desk. We want them to learn how to be kind and respectful, yet strong-willed and driven. We want them to learn how to have discussions that are not easy, but necessary. We want them to learn how to become the best version of themselves and to love that process. We want them to thrive in a place where they're challenged mentally and physically. We want to set our daughters up for a happy, fulfilling, successful life, but most of all, we don't want this just for our daughters...
We want this for our community too.
Jodey is a retired teacher from Ascension Parish, where she taught middle school English for 15 years and high school English for 5 years. In her spare time, Jodey enjoys reading, teaching dance, and spending time with her family.
"Apogee has given me the freedom to teach topics that inspire the students, led by their interests and learning pace instead of a specific curriculum. Including free play and group learning promotes critical thinking and develops a strong sense of community through hands-on activities."
Haley grew up in Covington, LA where she graduated from Lake Castle Private School and St. Scholastica Academy. Since, Haley has graduated from LSU with a major in Sports Administration and a minor in Business. Although Haley's teaching experience is via dance, she has always had a passion for working with children.
"To see a student have an AH-HA moment, where they master a skill or topic has been very rewarding for me. Apogee has helped me to see that education IS my passion. I really enjoy group activities and hearing each student's unique perspective."
